남수 <안녕 (먼 곳의 그대에게)>

Namsu's 'Hello (To You in a Distant Place)' is a single that, as its name suggests, speaks to someone far away with a simple greeting. The arrangement chose a stripped-back ballad form centered on piano and guitar, and the entire sound was designed at restrained density so the lyrical resonance would come through clearly rather than through decoration.

The most careful concern during vocal recording was 'tone of voice' more than pitch. To preserve the delivery of reading a letter aloud naturally, we secured both a single long continuous take and takes focused on individual sections. Neumann-family condensers preserved mid-range presence while the low end was tidied with a high-pass so proximity effect wouldn't dominate. Harmonies were stacked only once, thinly, to avoid undermining the original lonely mood.

In mixing, the piano was spread wide across the stereo image while the vocal was placed with a close, near-distance feel at center. Reverb blended a medium-length hall at very low ratio to create a sense of empty space, and delay was used briefly only at hook endings to leave a lingering tail. Mastering optimized for quiet-environment listening rather than pushing loudness.

The finished track suits quiet moments like being alone late at night or a rainy afternoon. A song whose meaning emerges when read slowly, like a letter.
