여유 <서울의 밤 (feat. 정수민)>

Yeoyu's 'Seoul Night (feat. Jung Su-min)' is an urban pop single that captures night-time city mood exactly as the title suggests. Yeoyu's soft lead vocal and Jung Su-min's contrasting tone cross paths within the track, alternating different aspects of the night in different tones. From the recording stage, arrangement density was key — it had to not undermine the presence of either voice.

The two artists were recorded in separate sessions. The lead vocal was captured with a microphone combination bringing out mid-range velvet quality, while the featuring part used a setup with more air so the tonal layers would feel natural within the same song. In duet overlaps, we built the take combinations so each voice yields a little space when the other enters.

In mixing, to emphasize night texture, we kept the kick and bass sub-range thick while tidying the mid-range so speech would carry clearly. Rather than wide halls, medium-length plate reverb was used to create the feel of an urban interior, and a separate short teaser cut was finalized for promotion.

A single that works well with quiet-environment listening such as inside a car or late-night earphone use. A track where the use of negative space determines the emotional feel.
