'Gentrification' is a special project by the Korean Music Awards (KMA), a compilation album that records through music the stories of communities disappearing due to urban redevelopment. The core concept was 'recording city memories through music' — each artist musically reinterpreted the gentrification experience of a specific area.

Recording was conducted at local studios where each artist resided or worked, with Studio NOL handling final mastering and overall album direction. The core challenge of mixing was respecting each area's different sonic identity (e.g., Hongdae's electronic, Seongsu's indie folk, Mangwoon's hip-hop) while delivering a consistent album-wide message.

This album was nominated for the main prize at the 2024 Korean Music Awards, demonstrating music's potential as a medium to record and convey social issues. Notably, tracks from this album were performed live at the KMA ceremony, sparking social discussion about gentrification.
