프로덕션 노트
Ryu Hyeong-su's 'Haru (One Day)' is an album that reveals the grain of ordinary daily life through the time-unit of a single day. Each track captures scenes from different times, so the whole album reads as a flow from morning to night. Studio NOL participated from planning through recording and mixing, sharing the direction of capturing everyday texture as-is from early on.
Recording placed acoustic-based instrumentation at the center, adding only the minimum instruments required per track. Guitar and piano were captured with two-microphone stereo to secure air, and vocals maintained a spoken-delivery tone preserving the nuance of daily spoken language from the lyrics. Sections where featured vocals enter were intentionally recorded at different proximity from the main vocal so they'd sound like conversation.
In mixing, changes in spatial feel between tracks were designed to reveal the album's 'flow of time.' Morning-corresponding tracks used short, bright reverbs; midday tracks were drier; evening tracks widened space to create air. Short promotional edits were separately finalized without sacrificing the original mood.
The finished album yields different flavors whether listened to in segments across different times of day or through in one continuous listen. A work well-suited to listening experiences that flow naturally like background.
