엉아들 <Self-titled>

Eongadeul's self-titled album is the work where the band presents their own name for the first time — it had to carry both each member's individual color and the unified body of the band. From the planning stage we aimed close to a 'member introduction album,' designing each track's arrangement direction so a particular member's personality would emerge.

Recording proceeded in the direction of preserving rehearsal-room spatial feel. Drums, bass, and guitars were first captured as live basic tracks, while sections where each member emerges in solo at the front were added via separate overdub. Vocals had different members taking the lead per track, so microphone selection and vocal direction were adjusted accordingly, and chorus harmonies were recorded with everyone together to secure the band's characteristic choral texture.

In mixing, EQ directions were set differently so each track's personality wouldn't blur, but a common compression chain was applied at the end so connection wouldn't break when the album is heard through. Spatial processing was set differently per track — short room, long hall, etc. — and mastering finely adjusted so member-section volumes wouldn't fluctuate.

The finished album carries a texture that feels like transporting a live performance directly, pairing well with listening environments that enjoy band sound. An album structured so members' faces surface one by one.
